Client-nominated organization: Supporting Navy SEAL families through nature, healing, and reconnection
At SC Financial Services, we believe charitable giving is at its best when it’s personal. This week, we’re honored to highlight a cause we support that we were introduced to by one of our clients: The C4 Foundation.
Honoring a hero, helping many
The C4 Foundation was established in memory of Charles Keating IV a Navy SEAL raised in Arizona who gave his life in 2016 while protecting his platoon and hundreds of civilians in Afghanistan. His bravery and sacrifice inspired his father to create a foundation that would honor his legacy in the most meaningful way: by helping the families of those who continue to serve.
As one of our clients shared:
“We don’t think a lot about Navy SEALs, but these elite warriors are out in the world, gone from their families almost nine months of the year, doing things we can’t imagine, keeping our democracy safe so we can sleep at night.”
The mission: Strengthening SEAL families
The life of a Navy SEAL is demanding physically, mentally, and emotionally. But it’s not just the service members who carry that weight. Their spouses and children often endure long periods of separation, frequent relocations, and the unique stresses that come with special operations life.
The C4 Foundation exists to support these families by strengthening their bonds and resilience. Through nature-based programs at the C4 Ranch just 90 minutes from the SEAL base in San Diego the foundation provides a much-needed respite from the pressures of deployment cycles. Programs focus on:
- Reconnecting families before and after deployments
- Building emotional resilience
- Supporting mental health and wellness
- Strengthening marriages and parenting relationships
One of the most powerful endorsements comes directly from those who’ve experienced it:
